TRUMP’S PLAN NAZIIST, SAYS VP HOPEFUL

Libertarian vice president hopeful Bill Weld likened Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s plan to deport 11 million undocumented immigrants to the Holocaust. Weld referenced Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, in order to draw the comparison between Trump’s policy and the Holocaust. Kristallnacht was a night of anti-semitism, where mobs went around destroying Jewish property, burning synagogues and killing Jews. When asked by CNN’s Jake Tapper if it was too extreme of a comparison, Weld responded saying, “If we don’t talk about it, we will forget”, implying that we must remember history to avoid making the same mistakes.

AIRSTRIKE TAKES OUT TALIBAN LEADER

U.S. officials carried out an airstrike in Pakistan against the Taliban on Saturday. The strike is believed to have taken out Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour. According to officials, the strike took place at 6 AM Eastern Standard time in an area close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Central Command Gen. Joseph Votel said that Mansour was a key piece of the Taliban, and had orchestrated several of the group’s attacks. Secretary of State John Kerry added that Mansour had always been directly opposed to ceasing fire or participating in peace negotiations. Pakistan and Afghanistan were both notified of the airstrike.

EX-NBA PLAYER DENIED SEAT ON TRAIN

Rosa Parks is turning in her grave. Former NBA player Etan Thomas, who had spent most of his career with the Washington Wizards, was denied a seat on a train. In a Facebook post, Thomas alleged that the lady who denied him the seat did so because he was black. His accusation was based on the fact that two minutes later she allowed a white man to sit next to her. Thomas’ story is yet another indication of the fact that racism in America is still prevalent and how we all need to stand up against discrimination.

INDIA CONGRESS PARTY DEMANDS REVAMP

The Indian elections are fully underway and the Congress party is calling for a major overhaul. With the BJP winning in nearly all states except for six, Congress is looking to revitalize the party. Former Union Minister V Kishore Chandra Deo said that it is necessary for certain Congress leaders to “go on holiday” as they play “musical chairs” within the organization. He added that leaders such as Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are being misled, and that this compulsory holiday should last for a few years. In defense of party leadership, Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi said that veteran faces should be pushed out in advisory roles, as party leadership is being fed the wrong information.
