OBAMA CALLS FOR WORLD WITHOUT NUCLEAR ARMS

Barack Obama on Friday became the first incumbent U.S. president to visit Hiroshima, site of the world's first atomic bombing, in a gesture Tokyo and Washington hope will showcase their alliance and reinvigorate efforts to rid the world of nuclear arms.Even before it occurred, the visit stirred debate, and pointing to paradoxes in policies relying on nuclear deterrence while calling for an end to atomic weapons.The two governments hope Obama's visit to Hiroshima, where a U.S. atomic bomb killed thousands instantly on Aug. 6, 1945, and some 140,000 by the year's end, underscores a new level of reconciliation and tighter ties between the former enemies."We come to ponder the terrible force unleashed in the not so distant past," Obama said after laying a wreath at a Hiroshima peace memorial.

‘THERE IS NO DROUGHT’ SAYS TRUMP

Donald Trump told voters in drought-plagued California on Friday that he had a solution to the water crisis: Open up the water for farmers, because “there is no drought.”“We’re going to solve your water problem. You have a water problem that is so insane,” the presumptive Republican presidential nominee told a crowd filled with farmers in Fresno. “It is so ridiculous where they’re taking the water and shoving it out to sea.”California is now in its fifth year of drought, which has taken a heavy toll on agriculture in particular. Despite an El Niño event that saw an increase last year in snowpacks that supply about one-third of California’s water, 86 percent of the stateis still considered to be in drought.

THREE'S AD-BLOCKING INITIATIVE COULD KILL THE INTERNET

We've known since February that the UK wireless carrier Three has had plans to block advertising on mobile devices. Today the company outlined their strategy by announcing that they would offer 500,000 of their customers the opportunity to opt-in to a test of this service, which will happen sometime next month.Three stated a few different reasons for deciding to block mobile ads. The first and foremost reason was that "advertisements count towards customers' mobile data charges, rather than advertisers shouldering the cost." This is actually a really interesting viewpoint, which I wanted to address from a different perspective.
