Hillary Clinton won the D.C. primary, sealing her status as the presumptive Democratic nominee. Despite her win, Clinton’s opponent, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, has declined to drop out of the race, asserting that it is important to give voters the chance to choose between two candidates. The two candidates met following the final primary on the Democratic calendar and discussed the upcoming general election along with their plans for stemming the danger that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump presents. Both Clinton aides and Sanders aides alike believed the meeting represented a constructive coming together of the Democratic party. Both the candidates discussed their liberal agenda along with several reform plans that they wanted to enact.
