MIDDLE CLASS MAKES A COMEBACK

The 2008 recession greatly weakened the job market, especially for middle class Americans. The wage gap has steadily been increasing. However, the economy seems to be turning to favor those not part of the billionaire class. William Dudley, president of the Federal Reserve Bank in New York, says, for the first time, “gains in middle-wage jobs actually outnumber gains in higher- and lower-wage jobs nationwide." The middle class gained an extra 2.2 million jobs over the last two years, as opposed to 1.5 and 1.6 million jobs for the higher and lower classes, respectively.
