SAN FRANCISCO TO CRACK DOWN ON ILLEGAL FOOD VENDORS AT SUPER BOWL 50

San Francisco health officials will be cracking down on illegal food vendors as the city gears up for Super Bowl 50 festivities next month. The Super Bowl will be played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on February 7th, but there will be numerous celebratory events in San Francisco surrounding the game. The city already has issued permits to 300 food trucks and 50 food carts. Health Department officials will be patrolling the areas where events are planned in order to crack down on vendors without permits. Vendors will need to ensure specific standards like proper hand-washing stations and hot and cold temperature controls to prevent the spread of food-borne illnesses.

SANDERS TAKES SLIM LEAD OVER CLINTON IN NEW IOWA POLL

Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has taken a slim lead over rival Hillary Clinton in a new Iowa poll. A Quinnipiac University Poll released today shows Sanders leading Clinton for the first time in the state with 49% support. Clinton managed to record a 44% support. Sanders' lead, which is barely within the margin of error, is also his highest support in any Iowa poll so far. The Vermont Senator's campaign continues to gain momentum in New Hampshire which could prove to be a serious threat for Clinton.

U.S. FORMALLY NOTIFIES INCREASE IN H1-B VISA FEES

The U.S. has today formally notified a massive increase in fees in certain categories of the popular H-1B and L-1 visas. The USCIS has said applicants for certain categories of H-1B visas post December 18, 2015 must submit an additional fee of $4,000. Those applying for certain L-1A and L-1B visas must submit an additional $4,500. The additional fees apply to petitioners who employ 50 or more employees in the U.S., with more than 50% of those employees in H-1B or L-1A and L-1B non-immigrant status. Thew new fee is in addition to the base processing fee and the premium processing fee (if applicable).

PRIYANKA CHOPRA LIKELY TO STAR IN THE MOVIE VERSION OF BAYWATCH

And finally...in some Entertainment news...Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra may star in the movie version of the popular 90's TV serial Baywatch. According to a report in hollywoodreporter.com, Priyanka is likely to play the negative lead in the movie which also stars Dwayne Johnson & Zac Efron. The plot revolves around the leader of an elite group of lifeguards (Johnson) who is forced to team up with a former Olympian (Efron) to save their beloved bay. If the deal works out depending on Priyanka's scheduling conflicts it would be her first full-length English feature film.
