SAN JOSE'S EASTRIDGE MALL SOLD IN A MEGA-DEAL

One of the largest shopping centers in the South Bay, The Eastridge Mall has been sold in a deal valued at more than $200 mn. The retail property has been snapped up by an investment group backed by a consortium led by Goldman Sachs. Fashion retailer H&M will join the tenant lineup with a 23,000-square-foot store, and will invest $15 mn. The new owner will invest funds towards freshening paint, landscaping, signage and the play area in the mall.

ODD EVEN TRIAL SET TO RETURN TO DELHI AFTER MARCH

The Delhi government is likely to implement the next phase of odd-even car-rationing scheme after March. The government is looking to address two major concerns related to commuting by school children and the possibility of people going for another car to go around the restrictions. Two-wheelers will not comer under the purview of the scheme. The government believes air pollution levels in the capital city significantly reduced in the earlier trial period.

MATCH-FIXING CLAIMS ROCK TENNIS WORLD

In some sports news...According to reports in the BBC & Buzzfeed, secret files have exposed evidence of widespread match-fixing in Tennis. Over the last decade, 16 players who have ranked in the top 50 have been repeatedly flagged to the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) over suspicions they have thrown matches. All of the players, including winners of Grand Slam titles, were allowed to continue competing. World number one Novak Djokovic has revealed he was approached to fix a match earlier in his career The players under scanner are competing in the Australian Open underway in Melbourne right now. The Association of Tennis Professionals has rejected the claims.

MUSIC BAND EAGLE'S FOUNDER & GUITARIST GLENN FREY DIES

Glenn Frey, the guitarist and singer of the legendary 1970's band The Eagles, has died at the age of 67. According to a report in TMZ, Frey underwent surgery for intestinal problems in November following which he developed complications. His death has been attributed to a combination of rheumatoid arthritis and pneumonia. Frey sang many of the Eagle's biggest hits, including Tequila Sunrise, Already Gone and Take It Easy. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and won 6 Grammys.
