MICROSOFT PLANNING TO EXPAND MOUNTAIN VIEW CAMPUS

Microsoft has submitted plans for a new campus in Mountain View that will lead to a significant expansion of its existing office complex. 3,000 people could work at the new offices once they are complete. Microsoft now has at least 2,000 employees in the Bay Area. Once the new plans are completed the total campus size would be around 644,622 square feet.Visible renovation or construction activity isn't expected until 2017. The plans have to be approved by city officials.

EAST COAST BLIZZARD TRIGGERS MASSIVE FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS AT BAY AREA AIRPORTS

The U.S. East Coast is getting pounded with heavy snow with a State of Emergency being declared in Washington D.C. & five states. Thousands of flights have already been canceled today because of the storm. This includes dozens out of San Francisco to East Coast cities like Charlotte & DC. Most airlines are allowing people scheduled to fly, to change their flight for free. More than 200,000 travelers could be impacted by the cancellations over the next few days. Washington D.C. could get more than 2½ feet of snow before the storm ends this weekend.

BRITAX RECALLING NEARLY 71,000 INFANT CAR SEATS

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of nearly 71,000 infant car seats manufactured by Britax. there have been 74 reports of the car seat handles developing fractures, cracks and/or breaking while in use. The car seats involved in the recall include the Britax B-Safe 35 and B-Safe 35 Elite infant car seat and travel systems. The products were manufactured between October 1st, 2014 and July 1st, 2015, and sold at retailers including Target, Babies R'Us, BuyBuyBABY and online retailers like Amazon.com and Diapers.com.el systems.

GOOGLE PAID APPLE $1 BN TO BE THE DEFAULT iOS SEARCH ENGINE

Lawsuit proceedings reveal Google paid Apple a whopping $1 bn in 2014 to be the default search option for iPhones and iPads and that the company’s total revenue from Android is just $31 bn. The details have been revealed as part of Google’s lawsuit with tech giant Oracle. Google has been accused of infringing on Oracle’s patents for programming language Java in its Android operating system. Oracle's lawyers have also revealed that Apple and Google shared a portion of the revenue Google received from showing advertisements to iOS users.
