SAN FRANCISCO'S YELLOW CAB FILES FOR CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY

San Francisco's largest taxi cab operator, Yellow Cab has filed for bankruptcy. The cab service could not handle the increased competition in the market thanks to rivals like Uber & Lyft. The cab service was facing a steep decline in profits in recent times. Yellow Cab filed for Chapter 11 protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in San Francisco on Friday. In its suit Yellow Cabs has said that Uber and Lyft had poached its drivers. Yellow Cab operates 520 cabs in the city and listed debts in the range of $10-50 mn, and assets of less than $10 mn, in its filing.

NO EVIDENCE OF GUNFIRE AT NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER, SAN DIEGO

Investigators have found 'absolutely nothing' to substantiate a report that gunshots were fired in the basement of Naval Medical Center San Diego earlier today morning. According to the Navy, gunfire was reported at the site prompting the center to urge people to stay away as police responded. The Naval Medical Center San Diego is home to the largest military healthcare system in western United States.

DONALD TRUMP CONSOLIDATES NATIONAL LEAD

With just a week left before the first votes of the 2016 GOP campaign are cast, Republican Donald Trump has consolidates his gains nationally according to a new Washington Post-ABC News Poll. Republicans see Trump as strongest candidate on major issues and by far the most electable in the large field of GOP hopefuls. Trump currently enjoys the support of 37% of registered Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has come second in the national survey with 21% support. Half of the Republican electorate feel immigrants weaken the American society, compared with 55% of the overall population who say immigrants strengthen America.

INDIA WINS FIRST T20 MATCH AGAINST AUSTRALIA

In some Sports News...In some news from cricket...Australia were bowled out for 151 in 19.3 overs while chasing 189 in the first T20 match vs India at the Adelaide Oval. Debutant Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the Indian bowlers finishing with the figures of 3/23 to steer India to a 37-run victory. Earlier Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina put on a 134-run stand for the third wicket to set up a competitive target. Kohli remained unbeaten on 90.
