APPLE BUILDS TOP SECRET TEAM TO KICK-START VIRTUAL REALITY EFFORT

According to a Financial Times report, Apple is reportedly assembling a large team of experts in virtual and augmented reality. The secret team is likely to build prototypes of headsets that could rival Facebook's Oculus Rift or Microsoft's Hololens. The move comes at a time when Apple is looking at alternate revenue streams beyond the iPhone. There is no clarity on when Apple plans to release a headset. Apple has recently acquired Flyby Media, an augmented reality startup. The startup allows mobile devices 'see' the world around them.

CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR JERRY BROWN PRESENTS A $122.6 BN BUDGET

California Jerry Brown has introduced a record $122.6 bn budget for 2016-17. Brown has called for spending increases in education and a boost in the earned income tax credit for the poorest working families. However Brown has issued a warning against spending on new schemes. According to the Governor, a moderate recession with more permanent spending could hurt the state's finances. Brown will consider a plan which calls for a $2 bn bond to build housing for homeless people in the state.

TRUMP REGAINS LEAD OVER CRUZ IN IOWA

Donald Trump has surged past Ted Cruz in Iowa, according to the final Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics poll before the Iowa caucuses. Trump enjoys the support of 28% of likely caucus-goers, compared to 23% for Ted Cruz, 15% for Marco Rubio & 10% for former neurosurgeon Ben Carson. In the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton enjoys a 45% support over Sanders' 42%. The survey comes just hours before voters meet at the state's 1,681 precincts for tonight's caucuses. The poll comes with a 4 percentage points margin of error.

MANCHESTER CITY HIRE PEP GUARDIOLA AS MANAGER

In some sports news...in Football..Pep Guardiola has agreed to a three-year contract to become Manchester City's manager. The 45-year-old who is currently managing Bayern Munich, will replace Manuel Pellegrini, who will leave on 30th June. Pep has been Barcelona's most successful manager with 14 trophies in four years, including 3 La Liga titles & 2 Champions Leagues. Manchester City are currently in second place in the English Premier League, behind Leicester City. The club has said Pellegrini is supportive of the decision.
