Hillary Clinton made history by becoming the first ever woman to be the presumptive presidential nominee for any major political party. However, Bernie Sanders has decided to stay in the race, banking on the vote of the superdelegates to see him through to the national convention. Despite the seemingly negative effect this might have on Clinton’s campaign, Sanders has also vowed to help Clinton defeat Trump. On Thursday, Sanders met with President Obama, thanking him for his objectivity during the campaign and further pledged that he would work with Clinton to defeat what he believes would be a disaster for American politics.
