RAHUL GANDHI: NEW LAW TO ELIMINATE DRUGS IN PUNJAB

Nations were founded on bold promises. The Constitution of the United States was a promise that the nation would abide by a certain set of guidelines. Rahul Gandhi made a similar promise to the state of Punjab, albeit on a smaller scale. The high ranking Congress official accused the Akali Dai government of shielding black market drug dealers and declared that his party would help bring an end to the illicit drug trade that had become a ‘menace’ in the state of Punjab. He further accused the government of attempted censorship of the media, citing their attempts to get ‘Udta Punjab’, a film about the ubiquitous drug use in the state, banned.
