Oscar Pistorius, the Blade Runner, is known for being the only athlete at the Summer Olympics to run with prosthetics. However, he is also known for being found guilty of murdering his girlfriend. After having been convicted, Pistorius appealed the decision, trying to argue for a lesser sentence. His lawyer, Barry Roux, is attempting to assert that Pistorius was emotionally and physically compromised when he shot his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. The Paralympian’s lawyer said that Pistorius thought there was an intruder in the bathroom, citing his client’s anxiety disorder as the reason for thinking that Steenkamp was an intruder.
