MESSI BREAKS RECORD TO REACH FINALS
The United States played Argentina on Tuesday in the hopes that they could reach the Copa America finals. However, the world number 1 team crushed those hopes with a resounding 4-0 win behind goals from Ezequiel Lavezzi, Gonzalo Higuain, and the main man Lionel Messi. After being fouled by San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski, the Argentine and Barcelona superstar stepped up to take a free kick and put it away in the top right corner, just out of reach of American goalkeeper Brad Guzan. With that goal, Messi broke his country’s record for most goals scored in international competition. Argentina will play the winner of Colombia vs Chile on Sunday. The United States will play the loser of Colombia vs Chile for third place.
