DEMOCRATS TO END GUN CONTROL SIT-IN

After Senator Chris Murphy filibustered for 15 hours in order to get votes on gun control legislation, it seems that Congress has been awakened to the issue of gun control. Rep. John Lewis launched a sit-in at the House of Representatives for essentially the same reason that Murphy filibustered. However, on Thursday, the Democrats made the choice to end the sit-in, asserting that they will continue to fight for improved legislation when Congress returns to session on July 5th. In an effort to abort the sit-in House Republicans pushed for a recess of Congress until July 5th, hence the sudden termination of the sit-in. Nancy Pelosi, House minority leader said the sit-in would continue until hell freezes over.
