FEDERER REACHES THE SEMIS
At 34 years old, Roger Federer put on a masterclass for tennis fans everywhere. Down two sets to nothing against Marin Cilic, Federer knuckled down, and for the 10th time in his illustrious career, came back from a two set deficit to win the match. In the process, Federer also chalked up his 307th win in the majors, making him the most successful tennis player of all time. In the match against Cilic, Federer faced triple match point, and the possibility of yet another exit from a major. After World No. 1 Novak Djokovic’s shock exit, those remaining in the tournament have raised their expectations of winning the competition. Djokovic’s unprecedented stretch of dominance left little hope that anyone but the Serbian would win it. However, now there is excitement in the air once more as Roger Federer hunts for his 18th Grand Slam title. He plays Canadian Milos Raonic in his semifinal match next.
