JAMES COMEY: THE LONE RANGER
Yesterday, the director of the FBI announced his recommendation to not prosecute presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the case of her private email server. James Comey demonstrated an astute comprehension of the weight of his decision. Despite his clearing Clinton, Comey also severely admonished her conduct in what appears to be an attempt to balance the scales. Furthermore, Comey added that he did not let Attorney General Loretta Lynch know about the meeting, nor did he inform any federal agency. He also gave the press little advance notice. During the statement, it became clear that very few people inside the FBI were aware of what Comey was going to say. Matthew Miller, former spokesman under Attorney General Eric Holder said that Comey’s decision went beyond the scope of his power, and that he was required to work with the Justice Department to decide whether or not to bring charges.
