Robotics is becoming a way of life. In nearly all walks of life, there is some form of artificial intelligence or hardware that allows a task to be performed with an extremely small margin of error. One of the most notable ways in which robots have come into our lives is through the medical world. While robots are currently just used for dispensing medication, researchers at MIT are conducting studies to find out whether these robots can make scheduling decisions, and understand patient needs. A nurse’s job is a complex one, with many decisions needing to be made at an absurdly quick pace. At MIT, the researchers are training the robot to learn from the nurses in order to become an effective decision maker.
