The 10m air rifle event is heating up for prospective Olympic medalist Abhinav Bindra. The shooter was just able to scrape through to the finals of the qualification rounds after a questionable start to his campaign at Rio. His compatriot, on the other hand, Gagan Narang, had a flying start to his bid for gold, but came up short at the end of it, finishing 23rd in qualifiers. Narang had won bronze at the 2012 Olympics in London, and Bindra had won gold at Beijing in 2008. Bindra will face Italian Niccolo Campriani in the final at 8 PM IST on Monday. Bindra’s fightback may prove to be his best ally.
