The Jabara’s neighbor displayed every form of racism against them. He called them “dirty Arabs” and “filthy Lebanese” among other names. However, the hate turned violent after he ran Haifa Jabara over with his car. He then shot and killed Khalid Jabara. The shooter, Stanley Vernon Majors, is just one example of the anti-Islam sentiment that is being perpetuated throughout the nation, according the the Council of American-Islamic relations. The Jabara’s have faced this kind of xenophobia since they arrived in the United States, despite being Christians of Lebanese descent.
