On Friday night, Azzi Fudd became the first rookie in WNBA history to win the 3-point contest -- and then she turned her attention to some unfinished business with Warriors superstar Steph Curry. “Steph, if you’re listening, I’ve been asking for a rematch since high school,” Fudd told reporters. “So maybe this is our time to figure out a time and a place.”
The challenge goes back to when Curry defeated Fudd at his SC30 basketball camp in 2018 when she was 15 years old. Fudd then was asked what it was like not only to challenge Curry in high school, but also compete against the boys at that camp and recalled the special time it was.“It was so much fun to be at that camp, to be one of the first two girls there and then to shoot against the boys,” Fudd said. “It’s always a little extra something when you get to beat the boys. It was a lot of fun and then to shoot against Steph was super cool.”
