CAA RESUMES PROTEST


The anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) movement, which fizzled out with the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, is gathering steam in the northeast once again.

After the North East Students' Organisation (Neso), the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and Raijor Dal on Thursday gave a clarion to the people from the region to oppose "Centre's move to implement CAA". West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari recently said Amit Shah suggested that the rules for CAA that seeks to give citizenship to migrants from Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, could be framed once the Covid booster dose vaccination is over.
