GOVERNMENT WILL CUT BASMATI EXPORT PRICE

The government is set to reduce the Minimum Export Price (MEP) for basmati rice to $950 per tonne from the current benchmark price of $1200. The Centre is likely to issue a communication to the departments concerned this week.
