UK stocks fell to a one-week low on Thursday following the Bank of England's (BoE) decision to maintain interest rates at a 16-year high. The central bank indicated that it would require additional evidence of a sustained decrease in inflation towards its 2% target before considering rate cuts. The blue-chip FTSE 100 index declined by 0.1% after the BoE's announcement, although it had been up by as much as 0.6% earlier in the day prior to the decision.
