MONDAY WAS DELHI'S HOTTEST SEPTEMBER DAY IN 85 YEARS
The city recorded the hottest September day on Monday in the past 85 years at 40.1 degrees Celsius, according to the latest India Meteorological Department records made available on Tuesday.IMD said it was also the second highest maximum temperature recorded in September in the past 122 years after 1938, when the highest ever temperature was recorded at 40.6 degrees Celsius. Since 1901, Monday was the second time in September when the day temperature surpassed 40 degrees Celsius.
