MUMBAI RECORDS HIGHEST DAY TEMPERATURES IN A DECADE
At 37.6 degrees on Wednesday the IMD’s Colaba observatory recorded the highest day temperatures in a decade. This was also 3.7 degrees above normal. The weather bureau had earlier on Wednesday issued a heatwave warning at isolated places for parts of Mumbai, Thane and Palghar. However heatwave conditions were not realised as departures in case of heatwave need to be 4.5 degrees above normal.
Meanwhile the IMD’s Santacruz observatory recorded day temperatures of 37.2 degrees making it the second highest for the month in a decade. In case of IMD Santacruz day temperatures were 3.6 degrees above normal.
