The company, known for its ubiquitous technology powering smartphones worldwide, is targeting a larger share of the data center processor market, currently dominated by Intel and AMD. Backed by SoftBank Group, Arm is positioning its CPUs as the preferred choice for pairing with Nvidia chips in AI data centers, a move that has driven its shares up significantly. Its technology is already utilized by major players like Amazon, Microsoft, and Ampere Computing, a supplier to Oracle.

The latest announcement introduces a new generation of designs for computing cores, the central component of data center chips.
