OFFERING 'HIGHEST EVER PRICE' OF RS 2,410/QUINTAL ONION, SAYS PIYUSH GOYAL

The Centre on Tuesday said that it will procure two lakh tonnes of onion from farmers in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh as it sought to offer "highest ever rate" and also address concerns over any shortage after traders launched a protest against the decision to impose 40% export duty on the kitchen commodity to curb rising prices.
