Sidbi announced on Monday that it has received approval from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) for its inaugural anchored project, the Avaana Sustainability Fund (ASF), valued at $120 million. The closure of the project was revealed during the 38th board meeting of the GCF, held in Kigali, Rwanda, on March 5.

Under the agreement, the GCF will invest $24.5 million in the ASF. The expected outcomes include substantial contributions to climate change mitigation, adaptation, and the enhancement of resilience in vulnerable sectors of the economy.
