Emboldened by the success of the students’ protests here at Jantar Mantar, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM)—the umbrella organisation of farmer groups involved in the anti-farm laws agitation five years ago—on Monday announced that it would restart protests at 100 locations, including Delhi, across India from November 26 - the day which will mark the sixth anniversary of the year-long farmers’ protest, which culminated in the repeal of the three farm laws in December 2021.
The protests will demand a law guaranteeing minimum support price (MSP), repeal of all free trade agreements and no India-US FTA, and a comprehensive loan waiver to address rural indebtedness.
