SNOW LEVEL COULD DIP TO 1,000 FEET IN BAY AREA FOOTHILLS NEXT WEEKEND

The National Weather Service has issued warnings of potentially significant snowfall in Northern California next weekend, with snow levels possibly dropping as low as 1,500 to 2,000 feet. By Saturday night into Sunday morning, snow in the foothills could reach as low as 1,000 feet.

Forecasters anticipate heavy snowfall and strong winds in the Sierra region, which could lead to extremely hazardous travel conditions late next week and into the weekend. They advise residents to prepare emergency kits for their homes in case of power outages, winterize vehicles, and stay updated on the latest weather forecasts. Additionally, there may be increased risk for those without adequate shelter.
