UK UNVEILS DUP DEAL TO RESTORE NORTHERN IRELAND GOVERNMENT

NEWS Desk Global

On Wednesday, Britain introduced a series of post-Brexit trading measures aimed at bolstering Northern Ireland's position within the United Kingdom. Local politicians have welcomed this move, which is expected to facilitate the restoration of a power-sharing government in the region after nearly two years of political impasse.

The potential revival of the regional government is seen as a significant step toward implementing a crucial aspect of the 1998 peace agreement, which brought an end to decades of sectarian violence in Northern Ireland. Presenting the measures to parliament, Northern Ireland minister Chris Heaton-Harris characterized the package as a "comprehensive deal" designed to address the concerns of unionists in Northern Ireland regarding the post-Brexit arrangement.
