A new program at San Jose State University will give guaranteed admission to all eligible graduating seniors from Morgan Hill and Gilroy unified school districts. The Guaranteed Pathway Program will begin in fall 2026 for the 2026-27 school year and is designed to help increase access to higher education for South County students. The Padres are once again searching for a new manager. In a surprising announcement Monday, Mike Shildt broke the news in a letter written to the San Diego Union-Tribune in which he said, "It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing my retirement from managing the San Diego Padres."
