1 DEAD, 4 INJURED IN FIERY I-280 CRASH IN SAN FRANCISCO

One person died and four others were injured in a fiery crash early Friday morning on Interstate 280 in San Francisco, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash happened shortly after midnight when a vehicle carrying five people flew off the 18th Street overpass and landed on the southbound lanes of I-280.
The vehicle caught fire after the crash. Four people were able to get out, but one person became trapped inside and died, CHP said. The four survivors were taken to a hospital and are recovering. Southbound lanes of I-280 reopened shortly after 7 a.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
