One person was injured and a pet cat died in a two-alarm fire in San Francisco that engulfed three homes Wednesday morning in the city's Sunset District. The blaze, reported in the 1300 block of 47th Avenue around 6:30 a.m., prompted a large-scale response from the San Francisco Fire Department. Crews arrived to reportedly find three adjacent homes actively burning, with heavy smoke and flames visible.
Three adults were rescued from the homes. One of the victims initially was in critical condition but was later stabilized, according to the department. Two other people were evaluated at the scene but were not taken to the hospital, while a cat died as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
