WEST INDIES DEFEATED INDIA, ENTER THE FINAL OF THE WORLD T20....
West Indies have beaten India in the semifinal in Mumbai and have advanced to the final of the T20 World Cup to be played over the weekend. West Indies overcame some early setbacks to register a convincing seven-wicket victory in the last over of the match. Put in to bat, India batted steadily throughout their innings and put up a strong total of 192 for 2. Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma contributed forties but the mainstay once again for India was Virat Kohli who smashed an unbeaten 89 off just 47 deliveries. It certainly looked like a winning total for India, especially so after India dismissed dangerman Chris Gayle for next to nothing and Marlon Samuels before the West Indies could reach 25. However Lendl Simmons played a brutal innings of 82 not off 51 balls with five sixes and seven fours and with big hitting Andre Russell coming up with an equally belligerent knock, an unconquered 43 off 20 balls with four sixes, the West Indies broke the hearts of the Indian supporters and stormed their way to the World Cup final at the expense of India. India made some serious blunders in the field, missing out on opportunities to take wickets by bowling no balls at crucial junctures which ultimately cost them the match and resulted in their being ousted from the tournament.
