CRICKET UPDATE ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2016

CHAMPIONS!!! WEST INDIES WON THE T20-WORLD CUP

We have some incredible scenes in Eden Gardens, the West Indies players are having a grand celebration after a sensational batting performance from Carlos Brathwaite propels them to the T20 World Cup title and victory. Needing 19 runs to win at the death, Carlos Brathwaite blasted four sixes off the first four balls of the final over of the match bowled by Ben Stokes to clinch an amazing victory for the West Indies against England. Batting first after being invited to bat, England lost three early wickets, and though Joe Root and James Buttler helped put on 71 runs for the fourth wicket, England never fully recovered from those early losses and ended up with an insufficient total of 155 for 9. However West Indies ran into heavy weather as they lost their superstar Chris Gayle and Charles Johnson in the second over of their innings, surprisingly bowled by Joe Root. And when the West Indies slumped to 107 for 6 in the 16th over, they were staring down the barrel, hurtling towards defeat and it seemed like it was all over for them. However Marlon Samuels came good at just about the right time, slamming an unbeaten 85 off 66 balls but what everyone who watched it will remember for many years will be Carlos Brathwaite's whirlwind strokes in the last over, finishing it off in some style and brute force, hitting four sixes off the hapless Ben Stokes, scoring an unbeaten 34 off a mere 10 balls, and rocketing the West Indies to the T20 World Cup title.
