IPL 2016: SEASON 9
In the 13th match of the Indian Premier League, Kolkata Knight Riders completed an easy victory over Kings XI Punjab in Mohali today. The Mohali witnessed a classic match recently between India and Australia in the T20 World Cup, when Virat Kohli stole the thunder and expertly guided India to victory. However today's match turned out to a whimper of a contest. Asked to bat first, Kings XI Punjab kept losing wickets right through their innings, could not register a single significant partnership and could hit only 138 for 8 off their allotted 20 overs. Shaun Marsh compiled a neat unbeaten 56 off 41 balls but nobody lent him any support whatsoever. And once the Kolkata Knight Riders blazed away to 80 in 8 overs, the rest of the match became a formality. An interesting feature of Robin Uthappa's 53 off 28 balls was that he hit nine fours but not a single six. The Kolkata Knight Riders made it comfortably in the end, losing only four wickets.
