IPL 2016: SEASON 9

In the 22nd match of the Indian Premier League in Hyderabad today, MS Dhoni's Rising Pune Supergiants have vanquished Sunrisers Hyderabad in an unequal contest. Put in to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered too many disasters at the start, losing as many as five wickets by the time they reached 32. David Warner fell for a duck, Eion Morgan scored exactly the same number of runs as David Warner did, only Shikhar Dhawan came up with a reasonable contribution of 56 not out off 53 balls amidst the clatter of wickets as Sunrisers Hyderabad finished on 118 for 8, that's less than six runs per over. Ashok Dinda bowled a superb spell, conceding only 23 runs off his 4 overs and scalping three wickets. In response, Rising Pune Supergiants lost Ajinkya Rahane for a duck, but thereafter it was Steven Smith leading the way with an unbeaten 46 off 36 balls as they reached 94 losing only three wickets. It started raining heavily, Rising Pune Supergiants were ahead by 34 runs on the Duckworth Lewis scale, and the match had to be called off. The Rising Pune Supergiants were declared the winners based on the D/L method calculations. Ashok Dinda received the Man of the Match award.
