IPL 2016: SEASON 9

Scoring 20s and 30s is not going to win you a match, well that's the lesson that the Delhi Daredevils players would have learnt today as they put up an insipid batting display against Rising Pune Supergiants and watched as they got beaten by seven wickets in Delhi. In the 33rd match of the IPL tournament, after being asked to bat first, most of the Delhi Daredevils batsmen going off to starts but failed to go on and as such there were six scores between 19 and 34 as the Delhi Daredevils finished their twenty overs with only 162 on the board. Rising Pune Supergiants had no difficulties whatsoever once their openers Ajinkya Rahane and Usman Khawaja put on a brisk 59 off eight overs. MS Dhoni joined in the fun with a 20-ball 27 while Thisal Perera gave the finishing touches with a couple of sixes off Imran Tahir even as Ajinkya Rahane watched from the non-striker's end, walking away unbeaten with a composed 63 off 48 balls to earn the Man of the Match award.
