On Wednesday, Governor Jerry Brown signed a series of bills that raised the smoking age from 18 to 21. The bill would also increase restrictions on e-cigarettes. According to Senator Ed Hernandez, these laws would “save countless lives [and] reduce reduce astronomical costs to the healthcare system”. While initially, the bill prevented anyone under 21 from buying tobacco products, many argued that if 18 year olds can fight for their country, they should be allowed to buy cigarettes. As a result, exceptions were granted to any active military personnel under 21.

CLINTON WON’T PRESSURE SANDERS

With Donald Trump as the Republican nominee, and Hillary Clinton following close behind, the campaign trail looks to be coming to a close for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. However, Sanders won’t be leaving the stage just yet. Clinton and her camp say they will not put pressure on the Senator to suspend his campaign, for fear that it would make it difficult for the Democratic party to unite behind their nominee. While Clinton has not declared herself the nominee, she does hope that treating Sanders’ campaign with respect will bolster her efforts against Trump.

CAVS SPLASH IN PLAYOFFS

The Cleveland Cavaliers are the powerhouses of the East. In the regular season, they took the conference in style, securing the first seed and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. However, the semis showed what the Cavs were truly capable of when everything clicked for them. In the first game of the series, despite the Atlanta Hawks throwing everything they could at them, Cleveland was able to stave off the Hawks. However, the second game showed a very different Cavs team, one that secured an NBA playoff record for most threes made in a game (25).

PRIYANKA CHOPRA SEARCHING FOR A PLACE IN NEW YORK

Priyanka Chopra is certainly going places. We had earlier reported about PC's lavish Montreal mansion that boasted on an indoor pool. Now, according to a report on PinkVilla.com, the 'Bajirao Mastani' actress is all set to shift base to New York temporarily, as the next season of 'Quantico,' will be shot there. The report states that the diva, who shared the huge Montreal mansion with her 'Quantico' co-stars, Jaz Masri and Johanna Braddy in Montreal, is now looking for a separate apartment in New York. What's more, PC's mom, Madhu Chopra has come to the rescue of her dear daughter and is helping the busy bee find a suitable abode for herself.
