IPL 2016: SEASON 9

Win the toss, put the opposition in to bat and win the match, so goes the formula, at least in this year's Indian Premier League tournament as the trend continued in the 34th match today, in Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss, promptly asked Gujarat Lions to bat first, restricted them to 126 for 6 and consigned them to defeat later in the day. The Gujarat Lions put up a shambolic display of batting, with Dwayne Smith, Brendon McCullum and Suresh Raina failing to get off the blocks, and only Aaron Finch's 51 not out off 42 balls helping them to a paltry score of 126. For the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a probing spell, taking two wickets for 28 off his four overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad had their own share of problems, losing wickets every few overs but Shikhar Dhawan stood firm amidst the ruins, making an unbeaten 47 off 40 balls to guide the Sunrisers Hyderabad to victory. Bhuvneshwar Kumar received the Man of the Match award for his fine spell with the ball.
