ORLANDO KILLER’S MOTIVATION
The worst domestic attack since 9/11. That’s what we are calling the Orlando massacre. On Sunday morning, Omar Mateen walked into a gay nightclub and killed 49 people, injuring 53. As victims are removed from the scene and their next of kin notified, investigators worked to determine the rationale behind Mateen’s mass shooting. They learned that the former G4S Secure Solutions employee had had a plan to attack the Orlando nightclub in the works for a long time. Upon looking into his history, officials learned that Mateen had been investigated by the FBI for publicly expressing empathy for a suicide bomber. Despite the fact that he had passed his background checks, the FBI ruled the interviews “inconclusive”.
