THE FEDERAL RESERVE: A RATE ROLLERCOASTER

There will be a rate hike. Actually, never mind, there won’t be one. Wait, on second thought, it could be on the cards. You know what, maybe not. For the last few months, the Federal Reserve has been waffling back and forth on whether or not an interest rate hike is a feasible goal given the state of the United States economy. However, their vacillations are not appreciated by those on Wall Street. Despite fears that interest rates will be increased, the actual chance of a hike is 2%. Anthony Bedikian, head of global markets at Citizens Bank, says that the Fed is just waiting and gauging the capability of the economy to handle a rate hike. However, he does believe that a June increase is off the table.
