TAXI DRIVERS HELP VICTIMS OF NICE ATTACK

It’s stories like these that allow us to stay hopeful for our race. Despite the unsettling frequency of attacks like the one in Nice, the number of times people rise up in solidarity is overwhelming. After the Nice attacks left many injured and countless more shaken up, taxi drivers throughout the city worked through the night, offering free rides to people, taking them to wherever they needed to go, helping them get shelter. Uber joined in on the effort, giving free rides to anyone who needed to evacuate the area. Hotels offered to let people stay the night, in keeping with the French concept of Portes Ouvertes, or Open Doors, where people can seek shelter and lodging in light of any emergency.
