DURANT AT ORACLE FOR THE FIRST TIME
The moment all Golden State fans have been waiting for finally arrived on Tuesday in the USA vs China exhibition game. Before the game, KD arrived nearly two hours before the game began and warmed up in the empty and silent arena. However, once the doors opened and the fans began to stream in, Durant got a taste of Roaracle. Fans cheered him on as he ran drills with assistant USABMNT coach Monty Williams. Many looked on disbelief as they watched one of the superstars of the NBA warm up right in front of them. Despite the fact that Durant was wearing a USA kit, it was the first time he would be in Oracle Arena as a Warrior. When his name was called before the game, the ovation that he got nearly raised the roof. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green both got similar receptions, while Kyrie Irving who sank the shot that ended the Warriors’ hopes for a repeat, got a few boos, but everyone in the arena was American, cheering their team. However, Warriors fans hoping to see the on court chemistry between the three Warriors were disappointed, as they played very few minutes on the court together.
