DEATH OF THE 747?

The 747 may be Boeing’s most iconic jet, but consistent drops in sales over the last few years may lead to the end of the runway for the jumbo jet. In its regulatory filing on Wednesday, Boeing said it is reasonable to assume a halt in production of the 747. In another announcement, the airplane manufacturer announced that production of its jumbo jet would be cut in half, from 12 to just 6, beginning in September. Many airlines are moving away from the jumbo jet to smaller two engine jets in order to save on fuel.
