Tesla’s move in the direction of solar energy seems to be coming to fruition with rumors of its most recent endeavor: the acquisition of SolarCity, the largest manufacturer of solar panels in the country. Tesla has made a $2.6 billion bid for the company. He says that the merger would create the “world's only integrated sustainable energy company”. One of the potential products is called Powerwall, a battery which allows users to go off the electrical grid. Hooked up to SolarCity’s panels, Powerwall could be extremely beneficial should Tesla acquire SolarCity.
