WALL STREET EDGES UPWARD

reuters

Strong showings from the financial and energy sectors have powered Wall Street up. Despite falling below $40 earlier in the week, oil prices managed to recover and boost up the energy sector. A strong jobs report also aided Wall Street’s positivity in trading on Wednesday. These recent showings, coupled with the possibility of a strong labor report, could set the stage for an interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve. Robert Pavlik, chief market strategist at Boston Private Wealth in New York, believes that economic improvement is reason for the Fed to increase interest rates.
