Arvind Kejriwal’s government has been dealt a huge blow in the Supreme Court. The justices ruled that the Lieutenant Governor is head of the National Capital Territory and as such, is authorized to act without the consent of the Council of Ministers. The LG is claiming that the Constitution won the case, and further adds that the decision was neither a win for him, nor was it a defeat for Chief Minister Kejriwal. Rather, it was “a kind of clarification that incorrect things will have to be corrected". The AAP plans to appeal the decision.
