RIO COVERAGE: PHELPS WINS 19TH GOLD

The United States has already run away with several of the gold medals at the Rio Olympics. However, of the medals won by U.S. athletes, the 4x100m swimming relay held arguably the most significance, as one of the swimmers was the most decorated Olympian athlete of all time. Michael Phelps, after taking a hiatus from swimming after the 2012 Olympics, stormed back onto the scene to win his 19th gold medal, taking his medal tally to an impressive 23 overall. It was a day of history for the U.S. as 19 year old swimmer Katie Ledecky broke her own world record in the 400m freestyle.
